When Your Mind Says Yes – But Your Body Says No

Ever have those days when you have a gazillion things to do and your body simply doesn’t want to move? Or your mind is racing and you’re checking items off your to-do list all while sitting or laying down? First, let me tell you that you are not alone.

If you’re like me, your list is never-ending and that can be overwhelming. One of the main reasons your body may not want to move is because of the pure and simple – overwhelm.

You know that feeling, when you have, not only a list of items you need to check off, but you also have your family obligations, business obligations and relationship obligations. All those obligations will certainly make your head spin if you don’t control them and they will certainly lead to overwhelm.

This overwhelm will not only affect your mind it will affect your body as well. Your body will feel weak, lethargic and completely worn down. Some will go to the extreme of taking medication but will soon determine that the medication will not work because the daily routine has not been altered. And some will completely neglect the symptoms of lethargy, lack of concentration, body aches and continue with their daily routine.

I’m here to tell you to STOP!!

There is nothing in this world that is more important that your health.

Without your health you can not exist. Without your health you can not function. Without your health you can not have a successful business, relationship or anything else that matters in life.

When those feelings start to arise, it’s important to stop and pay attention. Perhaps it’s time for you to slow down. If that is not possible it may be time to start delegating and letting go of certain items on your long to-do list.

Implementing the following into your daily routine will keep the overwhelm at bay:

  • Prioritize
  • Delegate
  • Release

I can not stress enough the importance of the following words and hope that you take them as seriously as I do:

Your health is important.

Overwhelm is deadly and can ruin your life.

Be aware of the signs.

Don’t neglect the signals your body is giving you.

I totally agree with you. There were times that I neglected these signals and I often punished myself for it. Now, I make sure that I’m not overdoing my workouts since it’s very counter productive. Anyway, I love this article. thanks for sharing! 😀
