For many years misaligned teeth were treated with only a few appliances but now that has all changed. Now your specific needs are catered for by the various braces and aligners that have been developed. Invisalign St John’s Wood is the brand name of one of these devices which are used in conjunction with the latest associated software and equipment. The aligners are designed specifically around you based on your particular requirements.
Invisalign designed for the twenty-first century
In this day and age, there is no need to suffer from misaligned teeth. The latest technological advances have been embraced by dental science and equipment and techniques have progressed enormously over the past decades. Invisalign is a product designed for the twenty-first century based on the needs of today’s patients. Invisalign brings a whole new concept to the way misaligned teeth are corrected. The aligners are made from a clear dental material which makes them far less conspicuous than the earlier dental braces.
Thorough and precise
A very comprehensive examination is necessary which includes taking a dental impression which can be done using dental putty or digitally. The digital version is a lot easier as it can be transferred electronically to the laboratory more easily and quickly. This will speed up the whole process from start to finish. Images are taken with a 3d scanner and X-rays which provides a more accurate image for the laboratory. Numerous photographs of the entire interior of the mouth are taken to provide a complete picture. X-rays identify the state of the teeth and the jawbone.
Invisalign your path to straighter teeth
All your information is sent to the Invisalign laboratory for processing and the creation of your aligners. The laboratory will create a virtual image of what your smile will look like once treatment has been completed. We can then show you how the treatment will have improved your smile. These aligners are called trays and each one has a slightly different orientation based on your condition. The number of trays is also based on the condition that is being corrected. On average the number of trays is around twenty-five but could be a few less or more. Once we have received the trays from Invisalign we will fit the first one, which resembles a gum shield and is placed over your teeth in a similar way. Each one of these trays needs to be worn for a minimum of twenty-two hours per day, to achieve maximum effect. They may be removed for eating and drinking and for brushing and flossing. Treatment can last from about six months to a year but in extreme cases somewhat longer.
The moment you have been waiting for
Once your Invisalign treatment has been completed, you will be required to wear one final aligner for a few weeks. This one is designed to retain your teeth in their new position and allow them to settle. Once the settling period is over, you will be able to smile confidently, happy in the knowledge that you have a lovely set of straight teeth.
